发明名称 METHOD AND APPARATUS OF MANUFACTURING PLASTIC OPTICAL FIBER
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a plastic optical fiber composed of stacked core and clad having small variation in clad diameter and core diameter at a single process. SOLUTION: By the method of manufacturing the plastic optical fiber composed of stacked core and clad, resin for clad and resin for core are simultaneously extruded from one and the same metallic mold. A thermosetting resin or thermoplastic resin for clad is extruded from the annular exit of the metallic mold and hardened in a forming liquid along the outer periphery of a guide pipe projected from the inner periphery of the opening to form the clad layer. On the other hand, the resin for core is fed from another opening provided in the inner face of the guide pipe and the resin for core passing through the guide pipe and coming out of the end of the guide pipe is injected into the clad layer and hardened under the condition that the injection pressure of the resin for core and the pressure of the forming liquid via the clad layer are balanced.
