PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the status in which UPnP device cannot be started or controlled from an UPnP control point because device description information and service description information of the UPnP device is not supplied to the UPnP control point. SOLUTION: In this communication system, the UPnP device, the UPnP control point for controlling the UPnP device and a device management server are connected to each other through a network. The device management server obtains the device description information and the service description information of the UPnP device through the network from the UPnP device and records the same. The device management server provides the record information of the information management part to the UPnP control point according to a request from the UPnP control point.
