TORPENT AND EXTERNAL PREPARATION FOR SKIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torpent capable of being readily formulated without having influence on function and shape of a preparation and an external preparation for skin containing the torpent. SOLUTION: The torpent comprises a glucose derivative, particularly a glucose derivative represented by general formula (I) (wherein R is a residue of 4-methoxyphenol, 4-carboxyphenol or 3-carboxyphenol). The external preparation for skin comprises the torpent. The external preparation for skin may further comprise an irritation causative agent [e.g. an oleagenous agent ingredient such as retinol and its derivative or an ultraviolet light absorber or an antiseptic agent] to the skin.
