PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smell presenting device and a smell presenting method, locally generating a smell spot in a desired place. SOLUTION: This smell presenting device 10 includes a computer 12, wherein cameras 20, 22 are connected to the computer 12. The three dimensional position of the nose of a human being is calculated from the photographed images of the cameras 20, 22 to calculate the distance between air guns 28, 30 and the nose and the direction of the air guns 28, 30 to the nose. The air guns 28, 30 are respectively driven according to the instruction of the computer 12, thereby emitting the air containing smell particles of the same kind. The emitted air forms a vortex and collides with the three-dimensional position of the nose of the human being. Accordingly, the vortex collapses to diffuse the smell particles in the three-dimensional position of the nose and its vicinity, thereby generating a smell spot. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
