PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an imaging optical system from receiving an illumination light reflected by a transparent cover. SOLUTION: This capsule endoscope 10 is so constituted as to tightly seal its inside in a sealed capsule 11. The outer shell wall of the sealed capsule 11 comprises a cylindrical cover 12, a transparent cover 13 connected to its both ends, and a hemispherical cover 14. A lens retaining frame 21 is attached to the inner face of the transparent cover 13. The imaging optical system 28 is provided in the inside of the lens retaining frame 21. An organic EL device 30 is provided in a boundary surface between the transparent cover 13 and the cylindrical cover 12.
