PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To wind an appropriate amount of bobbin thread around a bobbin even without driving a sewing machine driving device. SOLUTION: The sewing machine 10 comprises: the sewing machine driving device which is arranged in a sewing machine frame 12 and vertically moves a sewing needle 41 in sewing a workpiece placed on a throat plate; a cloth cutting knife which is arranged at the downstream side of a sewing needle in the cloth feeding direction and is vertically moved in feeding a cloth to form a cut line in the workpiece; a knife driving device 57 which is arranged on the surface of the sewing machine frame 12 and vertically moves the cloth cutting knife; and a blocking device for blocking the transmission of driving by the knife driving device 57 to the cloth cutting knife. The knife driving device 57 includes a bobbin holding part for jounaling the bobbin 100 around which the bobbin thread is wound and is coaxially rotated with the jounaled bobbin 100 by driving.
