PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging method and an image processing apparatus which corrects distortion due to heterogeneity of a magnetic field and signal attenuation due to difference of magnetic susceptibility. SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging method which constitutes a magnetic resonance image from information obtained by echo planer imaging (EPI) scanning constitutes the magnetic resonance image (block 26) using K space information obtained from EPI scanning (block 23), heterogeneity information on a static magnetic field (block 24), and a gradient information of an intra-voxel local magnetic field by the magnetic susceptibility (block 25). Thus, the distortion due to heterogeneity of the magnetic field is corrected and the signal attenuation due to the difference of the magnetic susceptibility is corrected to obtain the magnetic resonance image which precisely expresses an object to be measured.
