PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod capable of simply roughing a region of a desired optional shape and capable of preventing slide in that region. SOLUTION: This fishing rod is constituted by having a region protruded from its surrounding region A1 on the surface part of a grip region 10 of the rod the region has a peculiar form different from a ring-formed surface obtained by rotating around the axis of the fishing rod, the surface of the region is roughened, and the roughened surface is provided with a slip-stopping layer 12 having a larger frictional resistance than that of the surrounding area A1.
