PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for fishing equipped with a folding device of a handle having sure loosening-preventing function of an operation cylinder and free from shaking of the handle during fishing. SOLUTION: The reel for fishing is equipped with a handle-folding device 10 in which a handle 7 can be changed over to a folding state or a standing state to a driving shaft 6 by rotating an operation cylinder 13 provided on the outer periphery of the driving shaft 6 to a base end face 7d of the handle 7 foldably pivoted at the end of the driving shaft 6 of a reel body 2 and axially moving the operation cylinder 13. The handle folding device 10 is disposed between the driving shaft 6 and the operation cylinder 13 and the device 10 has a one-way clutch 20 permitting rotation of the operation cylinder 13 to the direction standing and holding the handle to the driving shaft and preventing rotation of the handle to folding direction and an operation piece for releasing rotation-preventing state of the one-way clutch 20.
