PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel designed to diversify the variations in the aspect of its thumbing performance and appearance through detachably dividedly forming a flange part separately. SOLUTION: The fishing reel has the following construction: A spool 4 comprises a spool body 4', a front side flange 6 as a separate body and a cylindrical fishline reeling shell 4" as a second separate body. The front side flange 6 is formed of a circular plate 6a, a flange 6b forwardly inclined from the outer side of the circular plate 6a and a thumbing part 6c consisting of multiple through holes bored in the circumferential direction of the flange 6b. This front side flange 6 is fitted on the outer side of the cylindrical part 4e of the spool body 4' and butted on a level-difference part 4g and the front end of the cylindrical fishline reeling shell 4" and attached with a nut 18 screw-engaged to a screw part 4f, wherein the material of this front side flange 6 is made of a metal or synthetic resin material, and its surface color is selected as appropriate.
