PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical unit which is improved in the quality of appearance, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The optical unit is equipped with an optical member 14a and a joining member 18a with which the optical member 14a is soldered and joined. The joining member 18a has a metal plating part 50 which is formed by plating treatment to its outer surface, improves solder wettability, and is soldered and joined with the optical member 14a, and the metal plating part 50 is baked before it is soldered and joined.
