An impact absorber, detachable with respect to a seatbelt, has a hose-like member (4) filled with cotton wool, synthetic foam, or other body-compatible soft material. Matching surface fasteners (1,2,5,6) or sliding clasp fasteners are provided on belt materials (3) on opposing sides of the hose-like member. In the filled condition, the impact absorber assumes a length of 500 millimeters, and a width of 150 to 180 millimeters.
