G-PROTEIN COUPLED RECEPTOR LIGAND AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for identifying a G-protein coupled receptor and a ligand bound to the receptor, or the like.

SOLUTION: This method for identifying the agonist or antagonist of SP9155 receptor comprises (a) a process for bringing a sample to be tested for the presence of the agonist or antagonist into contact with the agonist or antagonist or its functional fragment in the presence of a known amount of a labeled SP9155 receptor ligand, and (b) a process for measuring the amount of the ligand specifically bound to the receptor, wherein the existence of the agonist or antagonist in the sample is identified by comparing the bonds of the labeled ligand to the receptor with bonds measured in the absence of the sample to measure the substantial decrease of the labeled ligand.
