<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely help a person to go to sleep and to wake up both by irradiating to the sleeping person light suitable for each time when the person goes to sleep and wakes up. <P>SOLUTION: A bulb color LED 41 and a blue LED 42 are provided in a lighting system to illuminate a space for the person to sleep. The bulb color LED 41 and the blue color LED 42 are installed in a light source unit 40. This light source unit 40 is mounted to the head board of a bed. When the person is going to sleep, the bulb color LED 41 installed obliquely and upwardly is lighted, and warm color based light strikes on the sleeping person. On the other hand, when the sleeping person wakes up, the blue LED 42 installed obliquely and downward is lighted, and cold color based light strikes on the sleeping person. If light generated by the blue LED 42, that is, light having a peak of its intensity at a wavelength of 464 nm or so strikes on the sleeping person, melatonin secretion in the brain of the sleeping person is suppressed, and the sleeping person is easily wakes up. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
