<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide prism structure, having a structure with which a work to arrange an optical element on the emission side to a liquid crystal panel or a cross dichroic prism at right angles, is facilitated. <P>SOLUTION: The prism structure 550 has a plurality of liquid crystal devices, each of which has the liquid crystal panel and an angle of field compensating plate, modulates any of a plurality of colored light beams, according to image information to generate image lights and the cross dichroic prism 500 which composites image light beams generated by the plurality of liquid crystal devices, each of the plurality of liquid crystal devices further has a fixing member 440R fixed to the cross dichroic prism, a holding member 450R, which holds the liquid crystal panel 410R and is fixed to the fixing member and an emission-side optical element holding member 462R, which holds the angle of field compensating plate 460R, is turnably adjusted about an illumination light axis and the emission-side optical element holding member is constituted, by being fixed to the holding member after performing turning adjustment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
