<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detector that eliminates the need for a mechanical link mechanism with a zoom photographing optical system, is suitable for a finder unit to independently control drive, is a low cost, and reduces variations in position detecting accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The position detector for an optical element includes: the optical element made of a translucent material; and a detecting means having a light emitting part for emitting light and a light receiving part for receiving light emitted from the light emitting part for detecting the position of the optical element. A reflecting part by which light emitted from the light emitting part is reflected in a direction different from the light receiving part or a reflecting part by which light emitted from the light emitting part is reflected in the direction of the light receiving part is integrally formed on a part other than the optical effective face of the optical element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
