PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel surface treatment method that imparts sliding properties, abrasion resistance, lubricity, water-repellency, mold release properties and the like to an article and the like. SOLUTION: The surface treatment method comprises coating the surface of an article to be treated with a composition comprising at least one disk-shaped compound and subjecting the composition to temperature changes.
