PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve train of an engine capable of restraining a connecting pin from moving in the direction for projecting from a pin inserting part. SOLUTION: This variable valve train has the connecting pin 66 fitted in a pin inserting hole 54H of a control shaft 54 and interlocking the control shaft 54 with a slider gear, and changes a maximum valve lift quantity and a valve working angle by moving the control shaft 54 in the shaft direction. The tapered pin inserting hole 54H penetrating through the control shaft 54 is formed, and the connecting pin 66 is formed in a taper shape in conformity with a shape of the pin inserting hole 54H.
