PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing device which enables an opening/closing body reaching a fully opened position to be kept in the fully opened position by using a return spring. SOLUTION: This opening/closing device is equipped with a return spring which makes the pressure of a return spring force accumulated when a winding body for winding/unwinding the opening/closing body is turned in one direction, and which makes the return spring force utilized for the turning of the winding body in the other direction. The opening/closing device establishes the relationship: T<SB>1</SB>-T'<SB>1</SB>≤πEbh<SP>3</SP>N<SB>1</SB>/6L<SB>1</SB>. In the relationship, E represents a modulus of elasticity of a power spring as the return spring; b represents a width dimension; h represents a thickness dimension; L<SB>1</SB>represents the effective length, in the state of mutual noncontact with the inside and the outside, of the overall length of the winding of the power spring in the full opening of the opening/closing body; N<SB>1</SB>represents the number of the times of the winding of the power spring in terms of the effective length L<SB>1</SB>; T<SB>1</SB>represents self-weight torque around the central axis of the winding body, which is brought about by the self-weight of the opening/closing body in the fully opened state; and T'<SB>1</SB>represents upward resistance torque around the central axis of the winding body when the opening/closing body in the fully opened state is to be downward moved for closing.
