A capsule endoscope image display controller (26) comprises an image-to-image similarity computing section (36) for computing the similarity between an image and a temporally continuous image both included in an image series captured by a capsule endoscope moving in a digestive organ, a movement amount computing section (47) for computing the movement amount of a feature area shown in each image included in the image series, a video stage categorizing section (41) for categorizing the video state of each image included in the image series according to the similarity and the movement amount of the image into one of (a) "rest state" representing that the capsule endoscope is at rest, (b) "digestive organ shape-changing state" representing that the shape of the organ is changing, and (c) "capsule moving state" representing that the capsule endoscope is moving, an image drawing interval determining section (42) for determining the interval between each image included in the image series and the temporally continuous image temporally continuous with the former image according to the video state of the image, the similarity, and movement amount, and a display control section (44) for sequentially displaying the images of the image series at the determined interval on a screen.
