PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology whereby setting of a wireless LAN can be made easily.

SOLUTION: A setting information generating section 51 generates SSID and a WEP key being information set to each device for connection to the wireless LAN, and a coding section 52 converts the generated SSID and WEP key into a QR code. A display control section 53 allows a display section 24 to display the converted QR code. A communications apparatus images the QR code displayed on the display section 24 and decodes the QR code. The communications apparatus acquires the SSID and the WEP key from the QR code, obtained as a result of decoding and sets them so as to be capable of simply setting the wireless LAN. This technology can be applied to communications systems.
