<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently read information of a plurality of transponders storing information such as IDs. <P>SOLUTION: The contactless communication system comprises a plurality of transponders and an initiator. Each of the plurality of transponders includes a non-volatile memory storing information of IDs or the like, a random number generating means, a response time setting means, a counting means for counting a waiting time set by the response time setting means and a contactless communication means, sends out a response signal after the lapse of the waiting time, sets a communication completion allowable time and waits for the next initiation signal if information is not completely sent out even after the lapse of the setting time. The initiator sends to the plurality of transponders the initiation signal containing the number of time slots when reading information, sets one time slot time, reads the information sequentially from a transponder from which a response signal can be received within the setting time, and sends out the initiation signal again if a transponder incapable of reading is left. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
