PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which is simplified in shape and has superior operability, in relation to electronic cameras such as video cameras and digital still cameras. SOLUTION: The electronic camera is constructed such that an imaging-section main part (11) which has a first face (53) and a first side face (51) perpendicular to the first face (53) and is provided with an imaging device, and a display-section main part (12) which has a second face (54) and a second side face (52) perpendicular to the second face (54) and is provided with an external display device that displays an image on the second face are rotatably connected at the first and second side faces. On the second face close to the side face opposite to the second side face, a rotary operating member (22) is disposed which can make rotary operation along the scrolling direction of the display screen of the external display device and can make the changeover of the screen display.
