DE-HALOGENATION SOLVENT FOR HALOGENATED AROMATIC COMPOUND, AND METHOD FOR DE-HALOGENATING THE HALOGENATED AROMATIC COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solvent capable of sufficiently improving the reaction efficiency of de-halogenation of a halogenated aromatic compound, and a method for de-halogenating the halogenated aromatic compound by using the solvent. SOLUTION: This solvent used for the de-halogenation of the halogenated aromatic compound comprises at least one kind selected from mineral oil and synthetic oil, and has≥350 mass ppm sulfur content. By mixing the solvent with the halogenated aromatic compound and holding at a prescribed temperature, it is possible to sufficiently improve the reaction efficiency of the de-halogenation of the halogenated aromatic compound and realize the shortening of treating time and reduction of treating cost.
