PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device such as a digital camera or the like equipped with a display unit for enabling an actual-size photographic subject image to be displayed together with the image. SOLUTION: The device is provided which displays a photographed image of the photographic object taken by a CCD 13 via a lens and mechanism 12. In the device, position information on a focused focal point on the photographed image in the CCD 13 is obtained and then information on a distance, corresponding to the position information obtained, between the photographic subject and the CCD 13 is obtained and further scale information showing a size of the photographic subject at the focused focal point is obtained based on the distance information obtained. Then, the position information on the focused focal point and at least any one of the information on the distance and scale information are made to be associated with the photographed image. The image display unit is equipped with an OSD controller 20 for displaying, together with the photographed image, the focused focal point associated with the photographed image and at least any one of the distance information and scale information.
