PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid recovering apparatus which can smoothly recover a liquid discharged from a discharge opening, and a liquid jetting apparatus. SOLUTION: The liquid recovering apparatus is equipped with an ink absorbing material 24 which absorbs ink discharged from the discharge opening 34a, and a recovering vessel 20 which stores the ink absorbing material 24. A part of the ink is evaporated through an opening 28 of the recovering vessel 20. Moreover, the liquid recovering apparatus is equipped with an opening and closing member 29 or the like which opens and closes the opening 28, and a CPU which shuts the opening 28 when the ink is discharged, and makes the opening and closing member 29 or the like perform the opening or closing action so that the opening 28 is opened after a predetermined time passes since the ink is discharged.
