PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing a coil component in which resin appropriate to the core can be selected. SOLUTION: The process for manufacturing a coil component including a coil formed along one plane, and a core provided along the coil with resin being interposed between the coil and the core comprises a step (S01) for preparing a substrate formed of the same kind of material as that of the core and provided with a groove, a step (S02) for filling the groove with resin, a step (S03) for mounting a ferrite stick on the substrate to straddle the groove, a step (S04) for curing the resin and measuring the amount of depression in the ferrite stick at the straddling portion, a step (S05) for selecting resin depending on the measurements, and a step (S06) for manufacturing the coil component of selected resin, the coil, and the core.
