PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a copolymer having a sharp molecular weight distribution of ethylene, a 3-20Cα-olefin and optionally a polyene featured in that it permits the manufacture using an inexpensive catalyst component without the need of using a catalyst previously synthesized by causing a transition metal complex to react with another component and then separated and in that it exhibits reduced deterioration in activity even in the circumstances that the temperature is raised. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the copolymer of ethylene, the 3-20Cα-olefin and optionally the polyene comprises a step for feeding a transition metal complex (A), an organoaluminum compound (B) and a compound (C) comprised of an aromatic ring bearing a hydroxy group and an alkoxy group positioned at the o-position to each other into a polymerization tank and causing ethylene, the 3-20Cα-olefin and optionally the polyene to copolymerize in the polymerization tank.
