System and method for monitoring vehicle traffic based on radio frequency identification are provided. The system comprises radio frequency identifying circuit, radio frequency induced transceiver, communication network, and vehicle and traffic management centre with computer. The method comprises the following steps: the radio frequency induced transceiver collects user data from the vehicle with the radio frequency identifying circuit; the vehicle and traffic management centre with computer inquire about user database; the ID number stored in the radio frequency identifying chip of the checked vehicle is associated with the vehicle number; the data is transmitted to the database of the vehicle and traffic management centre, when the radio frequency induced transceiver installed on the road crossing or surface reads the ID number of the vehicle passing through the road crossing or surface; the associated information with the vehicle and the vehicle's owner is attained.
