<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine capable of accurately determining failure of an exhaust recirculating device by a relatively simple technique. <P>SOLUTION: An air-fuel ratio correction factor KAF is calculated in response to output of an air-fuel ratio sensor 14 arranged in an exhaust system of the internal combustion engine so that the air-fuel ratio is made to coincide with the target air-fuel ratio. An exhaust recirculating control valve 22 is opened and closed in a specific period, and band-pass filter processing is applied to the air-fuel ratio correction factor KAF calculated at this time, and after filter processing, a correction factor KAFFIL80A is calculated. A determining parameter RT80A is calculated by integrating an absolute value of the correction factor KAFFIL80A after the filter processing. When its determining parameter RT80A exceeds a determining threshold value LT80A, it is determined that there is leakage in the exhaust recirculating device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
