<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which scattering or falling of toner onto an image, and surface stain with toner are prevented by specifying the timings of charging and applying a developing high voltage which are conducted to prevent erroneous recognition of an edge of a reference image, thereby restraining excessive supply of toner. <P>SOLUTION: The timings of the application of charging high voltage for uniformly charging a photoreceptor 10, the operation of a laser writing unit 47 for forming a latent image onto the photoreceptor 10, and the application of a development high voltage at which toner is supplied to an electrostatic latent image, which are conducted for the formation of the reference image in order to properly judge the edge of the reference image, are switched between charging and developing high voltage while latent image exposure for the reference image is used as a reference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
