PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant composition which has a low frictional property to enable its use for a long time under severe conditions and has excellent wear resistance. SOLUTION: This lubricant composition for existing and receiving shears between two surfaces moved at mutually different circumferential speeds is characterized by comprising (a) at least one organic compound which has a mesogenic structure capable of forming a liquid crystal phase in the molecule and a viscosity pressure coefficient of≤20 GPa<SP>-1</SP>at 40°C, and expresses the minimum traction coefficient value with the increase of pressure under a pressure of≥10 MPa, (b) a lubricating base oil, and (c) at least one viscosity index-improving agent and/or (d) at least one antioxidant.
