PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyvinylidene fluoride-based resin solution suitable as a membrane raw material hard to cause gelation for a long period of time. SOLUTION: This polyvinylidene fluoride-based resin solution comprises a polyvinylidene fluoride-based resin, polyvinylpyrrolidone and dimethyl acetamide together with 0.5-3% by mass of water, which is preferably one whose viscosity rise after storing at 85°C for 20 days or longer is not more than 5 times. This resin solution is suitably obtained by adding the polyvinylidene fluoride-based resin to a mixture of dimethyl acetamide and water. Also a porous membrane having stable properties can be produced continuously for a long period of time by a wet forming process using the polyvinylidene fluoride-based resin solution.
