PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member joining method or the like capable of easily joining a member consisting of a composite material with a member including at least aluminum. SOLUTION: Aluminum is thermal-sprayed on a surface of one member 11 consisting of a composite material to form a joined layer 14, and the other member 12 with at least a joining surface 12a thereof formed of aluminum is friction-joined with the joined layer 14 at the joining surface 12a. Alternatively, an aluminum thin film is adhered to the surface of one member 11 consisting of the composite material to form a joined layer 14, and the other member 12 with at least the joining surface 12a thereof formed of aluminum may be friction-joined with the joined layer on the joining surface 12a.
