PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel decoding apparatus and a channel decoding method capable of retrying decode processing when a transport format is changed due to production of reconfiguration of parameters for the decode processing even if two TFCIs whose transmission time interval come before and after are the same. SOLUTION: The decoding apparatus holds a TFCI of a received channel for at least one transmission time interval being a transmission unit time, compares the present TFCI with the preceding TFCI, and when the both are the same, the decoding apparatus uses the parameters set for a preceding transmission period without the need for an arithmetic operation for calculating the parameters for the decode processing, carries out the decode processing for the transmission period this time, even when the preceding TFCI of the both is the same, the decoding apparatus carries out arithmetic operations for calculating the parameters for the decode processing on the occurrence of reconfiguration, and the decoding apparatus uses the obtained parameters to carry out the decode processing for the transmission period this time.
