PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical adhesive used for adhesive type optical films, etc., and excellent in both properties of the endurance and releasability.

SOLUTION: The optical adhesive comprises a base polymer having a functional group (F) and a coupling agent having a benzyl ester group represented by general formula (1) (wherein A1and A2are mutually different functional groups and either one of A1and A2exhibits reactivity with the functional group (F) which the base polymer has or mutual action on the functional group (F); R1is a 1-12C alkylene group and/or a phenylene group which may have a substituent group and R2and R3are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-12C alkyl group and R2and R3may be same or different).
