摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight using a reflector capable of irradiating white light from a fluorescent lamp toward a liquid crystal panel with very uniform light distribution. <P>SOLUTION: The reflector 3 for reflecting light emitted from the fluorescent lamps 2a, 2b, 2c toward back face of a liquid crystal panel unit 1 has curved reflection parts convexly protruded toward the fluorescent lamps 2a, 2b, 2c located at positions corresponding to the fluorescent lamps 2a, 2b, 2c respectively. Since the white light emitted from fluorescent lamps 2a, 2b, 2c travelling in a direction opposite to the liquid crystal unit 1 travels so as to spread upward or downward when reflected at the curved face, such a phenomenon that the white light is intensively irradiated only on the parts of the liquid crystal panel unit 1 corresponding to the fluorescent lamps 2a, 2b, 2c is eliminated, and the strength of light nearly uniform in upper and lower direction can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
