BOTH-SURFACE DISPLAY DEVICE AND SURFACE LIGHT EMISSION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a both-surface display device capable of displaying a good-looking image even when the image is viewed from either of a front light side and a back light side.

SOLUTION: The both-surface display device 21 is constituted by stacking a reversible light 22 and a translucent type liquid crystal panel 23 on over the other. The translucent type liquid crystal panel 23 is provided with reflecting electrodes 33 dispersed to have reflection regions 34 and transmission regions 35 over the entire display screen. A light guide plate 24 is so designed that the luminance of light projected from a light projection surface 26 of the light guide plate 24 in a direction perpendicular to the light projection surface 26 is 15% to 45% of the peak luminance of the light projected from the light projection surface 26.
