<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing device capable of coping with the change of hardware configuration and increasing a speed in start processing. <P>SOLUTION: In this computer 10, a standard POST processing and a simplified POST processing are selectively implemented in response to a length of an operation time of a power button switch 15. In the standard POST processing, device detection processing for detecting each device mounted in the computer 10 is implemented. Then processing for initializing each detected device is implemented. Further in the standard POST processing, processing for storing the device information indicating the detected device in a nonvolatile memory, is also implemented. In the simplified POST processing, the device detection processing is not implemented, but only the device designated on the basis of the device information stored in advance in the nonvolatile memory by the standard POST processing, is initialized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
