摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce drive vibrations leaking to detection legs by suppressing the asymmetricity of drive vibrations due to the anisotropy of a piezoelectric single-crystal material that is a member of a tuning-fork vibrator. <P>SOLUTION: On the asymmetricity of drive vibrations due to the anisotropy of a piezoelectric single-crystal material constituting the turning-fork vibrator 1, the difference of vibrations between drive legs 11a and 11b for excitation and the amount of displacement of vibration leakage to the detection legs 12 are predicted. The shoulder length on the side of drive legs predicted to largely vibrate between right and left shoulder lengths Wa and Wb of a body part 10 is widened by such an amount which brings the predicted amount of the difference of vibrations close to zero due to the effects of increase in the shoulder length. By asymmetrically machining the vibrator 1, it is possible to compensate for the asymmetricity of the drive vibrations, reduce drive vibrations leaking to the detection legs 12, and improve accuracy of the tuning-fork vibrating gyroscope in detecting angular velocity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
