PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coating the surface of a substrate with a resin sheet which can hold the functions and shape of the resin sheet even after the coating and control temperature easily and a coated member obtained by the method. SOLUTION: The method for coating the surface of the substrate with the resin sheet includes a contact process for making the resin sheet 2 containing a thermoplastic resin contact the surface of the conductive substrate 1, a temperature increasing process for increasing the temperature of at least the surface part of the substrate 1 by induction heating, and a press-bonding process in which when the interface part 22 of the resin sheet 2 including a contact surface 21 with the substrate 1 is melted by the temperature increase of the substrate 1, the induction heating is stopped, and the substrate 1 and the resin sheet 2 are press-bonded by pressurization in the thickness direction of the resin sheet 2. The coated member is obtained by the method, and the substrate 1 and the resin sheet 2 are made to adhere to each other on the contact surface by the transformation of the interface 22 of the resin sheet 2.
