<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resume the game by surely and quickly reconnecting game devices when a breakage (failure) of the communication connection has occurred between game devices in a network game system constituted in such a manner that a game device which doubles as a host computer and other game devices are respectively communication-connected. <P>SOLUTION: Each game device 10 transmits a connection failure report to this management server 60 when the breakage of the communication connection with other game devices 10 being communication-connected is detected, or when a failure occurrence report for the communication connection is received from a communication host unit. The management server 60 selects a game device 10 which is made a new communication host unit from among these game devices 10 when the connection failure report from all game devices 10 of which the communication state is good is received, and notifies the game devices 10 of the selected game device 10 as the new communication host unit (a).
