PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device having the function of varying the frame rate by which photography at a frame rate higher than the conventional rate can be performed without increasing the speed of a recording instrument, a display device and the like. SOLUTION: A data rate is reduced to 1/nxm in the horizontal or vertical direction and a frame rate is increased while the total data rate is maintained.
