PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the effective use of a residue in manufacturing of glutamic acid using a fermented cornstarch, and an easy-to-use fertilizer produced using the method. SOLUTION: There are provided a unique fertilizer containing various kinds of very-small-quantity amino acids and a method for preventing the fertilizer from forming bulk matter through sticking even in the case of the absorption of water. The fertilizer is obtained by subjecting a residue, that is obtained by subjecting a fermented cornstarch to a hydrochloric acid-treatment and then crystallizing glutamic acid and separating it, to a sulfuric acid-treatment, then separating chloride ions from the residue, thereafter neutralizing it with ammonia, spraying it into a hot wind furnace and drying it, granulating the dried matter by a granulator, screening the granulated matter, recharging the granulated matter of a given range of the standard to the granulator and also charging a given amount of a powder coal, and coating the surface of the granulated matter with the powder coal.
