PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker which controls rice cooking optimally by measuring humidity in a storehouse of rice and taking the storing state of the rice into account. SOLUTION: The rice cooker 10 comprises a reading means 1, a control means 2, an information means 3 and a rice cooking means 4. The reading means 1 reads information of a radio IC tag 21 added to a rice container 20 to obtain rice information about the brand, production place, production year and polishing date of the rice. According to the rice information and humidity information of the storehouse 60 for storing the rice, the control means controls the information means 3 to give information of the optimal quantity of water, and controls the rice cooking means 4.
