Device for hoisting a flag (9) comprises a cable pull (2) forming a wall section (4) running the height of the device and a boom section (6) connected to the wall section via a deviating guide (8) and running along the hollow boom rigidly fixed to the wall (3). Holding straps (15) for the upper edge of the flag are clamped to the cable end for receiving the flag in a guiding slot of the boom. The deviating guide has guiding paths for pivoting the holding straps in a rotating position with respect to the axis of the cable end. Preferred Features: The holding straps have a length which exceeds both ends of the cable in the wall section of the cable pull.
