<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a write-once information recording medium on which recording and reproduction of information can be performed using short-wavelength laser light, such as blue laser light or the like, with high density and a sufficiently practical performance level, and a dye material for the medium. <P>SOLUTION: The write-once optical disk 28 comprises a transparent resin substrate 20 on which a groove 21 and a land 30 are formed concentrically or spirally, and a recording film 24 formed on the groove 21 and the land 30 of the transparent resin substrate 20. A recording mark is formed on the write-once optical disk 28 by irradiation with the short-wavelength laser light. The write-once optical disk 28 has L-to-H characteristics in which a reflectivity of the recording mark portion formed by irradiation with the short-wavelength laser light is higher than a reflectivity before irradiation with the short-wavelength laser light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
