<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the setting work of the installation position of each video image monitor in a multi-display device which the matrix arrangement of the image monitor of television receivers of a plurality of sets (such as four sets, nine sets, etc.) is performed. <P>SOLUTION: Switches SW1-SW4 (for example, push buttons) are respectively provided so that on/off may be changed (by its projecting/retreating). Each video image monitor 8 detects (the push button) on/off state of the switches SW1-SW4, and recognizes the own installation position. Thereby, it becomes unnecessary for an operator to set every video image monitor 8.
