<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antireflection film having improved marring resistance, pencil hardness, cracks, haze, light resistance and flatness, and its manufacturing method, and to provide a polarizing plate and a display device having excellent visibility by using the antireflection film. <P>SOLUTION: The antireflection film is formed by providing two or more optical interference layers on a transparent base film which has a hard coat layer having film thickness of 8-20 μm. A high-refractive index layer having higher refractive index than that of the transparent base film and a low-refractive index layer having lower refractive index than that of the transparent base film overlie one after another and are heat-treated. The high-refractive index layer is composed of composition containing (a) metal oxide particulates containing primary particles having an average particle diameter of 10-200 nm, (b) metallic compound and (c) ionizing radiation-curable resin. The low-refractive index layer is composed of composition containing (d) organosilicon compound represented by a general formula Si(OR)<SB>4</SB>or polymer and (e) hollow silica particulates which are porous or hollow inside and have outer shell layers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
