<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensation sheet which is excellent in an optical compensation function, contributes to expansion of viewing angle when it is applied to an image display device, does not generate unevenness resulting from the optical compensation sheet, does not generate lowering of a display grade even when it is applied to a large scale liquid crystal display device, to provide a polarizing plate having an optical compensation function with a polarization function and to provide a liquid crystal display device of which the viewing angle is improved and which can display a high grade image. <P>SOLUTION: The optical compensation sheet has an orientation layer and an optical anisotropic layer in this order on a transparent support. The optical anisotropic layer contains at least one kind of liquid crystal compounds and at least one kind of polymer containing fluoroaliphatic group having hydrophilic group selected from a group consisting of a carboxyl group, a sulfo group, a phosphonoxy group and salt of them and the orientation layer and/or the optical anisotropic layer contain one or more kinds of nucleophilic reagents with nucleophilic constant (n) of 5 or more and 10 or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
